back from the beach.

beautiful san diego... ahh... the weather, the ocean, the people, i love it all. thanks to my mom and dad, we just got back from a week at the beach. we played, we swam, we boogie boarded, ate sand (levi) and enjoyed family. chad insisted we bring up all of the beach cruisers and i am so glad we did. we rode to donut shops, (why are there only real donut shops in california?), to a cool cafe for breakfast, to the parks and along the PCH. levi loves, i mean, LOVES going on bike rides, so each morning when he woke up at 7:00am and everyone was asleep until 9:30, we took him all over San Diego on bikes and in strollers.

mom cooked her tantalizing food as always, and 5 pounds later, my jeans aren't fitting so good. i justified it all away saying "I'm on vacation." A highlight on the trip was seeing WICKED, an early birthday present from my parents. I can't believe it was my first time. we know all of the music and sing it all the time, but this was the real deal and we all were in heaven. kate was so excited to hear all the songs she knew and hardly blinked the whole play. (remember her performance last year of "popular")

we played games, watched movies, ate too much ice cream and wrestled with the crazy muchacho, levi. chad and i decided this was not the best age for levi at the beach, he ate enough sand to fill a sand box and was quite a little menace, but still the darn cutest thing on the planet.

it was a great finale to the summer.

right when we got home it was 78 degrees at 6:00 pm. basically a miracle in las vegas so we hurried and unloaded the car and hopped on the bikes to go eat some pizza. we took our time and talked and laughed about what a great summer it was and how sad we were to see it end. then we talked about how exciting fall is and all the new adventures ahead.

school starts tomorrow. good bye summer, next time hang around a little longer.
