Happy Birthday DAD! There are so many things that I could write about to convince you that my dad is the greatest dad ever, but I think one story will do the job:
As a a just turned 16-year-old, my dad let me take his truck out for the night with some friends. I felt rather cool driving this nice, GMC, silver truck. I first went to pick up a couple friends, April and Andrew. They slid on into the 3 seater bench seat; Andrew in the middle and then April. I needed to turn around, but it was a narrow street so as I was turning I pulled into the driveway across the street, so that I could then back out and be on my way. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned somehow as Andrew was putting on his seatbelt, his foot hit the gas just as we were in the neighbors driveway....... We crashed through the closed garage into the neighbors living room. Yes, we even caved in the front door of this poor strangers home. So with a garage door on top of the truck and a nice man being disturbed while watching television, I was terrified as of what to do next. I called my mom and she sent my dad to come and help. Myself and my friends were pretty nervous and wondered what he would say as we saw him walking up the sidewalk. (After all, this was a pretty major, expensive, messy accident. ) My dad came up to me, gave me a hug and then said, "Jennie, didn't I always teach you to knock before you went into someone's house." Not another word was ever said about the accident.
That's my dad. You convinced?
