first day 09.

jackson and taylor were off to the 2nd and 4th grade for their first day of school. the "first day outfit" was pressed, new shoes were on, supplies in hand, and off they went thinking they had permission to keep getting older on me. for breakfast we had the favorite crepes, the ultimate brain food, and then once they were looking spiffy we headed off the school. jackson is really cool i decided, and taylor is best friends with everyone. kate, levi, and i said our good byes and then went home to our quiet house... well not so much. they both had a fabulous time at school, love their teachers, and jackson told me that he met a lot of new friends, he just can't remember their names. (see, told you he was cool)

After that we were off to our traditional first day of school dinner; a restaurant that no one has been to in honor of all things new and good change. we chose the "Grand Luxe Cafe" at the Palazzo on the strip and were quite a spectacle. a mom, dad and four small children are not a usual sighting on the las vegas strip (like it is in say... utah.) we must have had 10 people come to us and tell us what a beautiful family we have and how well behaved our children are (little do they know:), and how nice it is to see people still having children. love that about vegas... nice tourists; drunk, but still nice.

i couldn't be happier, the first day of school went off with out a hitch and the whirlwind of activities begins. i can feel my hair blowing already...

some love notes i stuck in their lunch with pictures of kate and levi in case they were missing them...

Lunch notes. Love 'em! I remember when mom wrote notes on my lunch napkins at school. I forgot one time after eating a juicy orange and I smeared the black love note ink all over my face. I'll invest in envelope non-napkin notes for sure. And pictures too? I love it. Go Jen.
