domesticated divas.

this week has been rather busy as my mom and I have been hosting a sewing summer camp for girls ages 8 to 11. i talked my mom into it last week and had 10 girls for camp signed up with in a day. we called it "Domesticated Divas" because there is no reason that being able to sew and be domestic has to be boring. It was three days, 4 hours each day, and for as much as we packed into those 3 days, it probably should have been called SEWING BOOT CAMP. there wasn't time for breaks or silliness with all the stuff we had planned, and the girl's were awesome and sewed their little hearts out. they made personalized totes, head bands, a stylish apron, a skirt, and "anthropologized" a shirt... whoooh. Still can't believe we finished everything in time for the fashion show today where they did a cat walk for their mom's to show off what they made. Grama Linda (my mom) is the true domestic diva, and I learned plenty along the way from her. it really was a fantastic time, and i can't wait to start thinking of more projects for these little divas to work on.

You MUST do this again! Hannah had a fabulous time. The very first day she came home and made me an apron - took her 2 1/2 hours - the little sweetheart. You need to charge more!! Thank you for doing this!
