"anthropologized" shirt tutorial.

as promised... here is the tutorial to "anthropologize" your clothes, sweaters and whatever else you feel like sprucing up. kind of like bedazzling... kind of.

** I use a couple of different methods to create the "flowers" on the shirt, I will show you both of them.

Flower #1

1. Start with a light weight fabric, and a shirt, tank top. pillow etc.
2. Cut fabric into squares. You can cut them as small or as big as you like depending on how big you want your flower. On this example, my squares are about 4 inches square.
3. Cut squares into "flowery" shapes. You don't have to be perfect and they don't all have to be the same. I usually cut 3 or 4 in a stack at the same time.
4. Pick up one of your flowery squares and pinch together, then pick up another and place it under the first one and keep pinching. Do it again 1 or 2 more times with more flowery squares and continue pinching. You will notice a flower starting to form.
5. Either hand stitch or use your sewing machine to sew along the bottom of your pinched flower. Just make sure that you are sewing through all of the layers.
6. I don't have a picture of this, but you can cut the excess fabric underneath the seam so that the flower lays flatter and wallah... a little baby flower.

Flower #2

- Follow the first 3 steps of Flower #1

1. Fold 1 flowery square in half, pick up another flowery square and lay it perpendicular on top of the first one. Pick up another one, and continue laying on top of the others alternating the direction. (I have no idea what I am saying... just look at the pictures)

2. Hand stitch together making sure to secure all the layers in the center of the flower and wallah... flower number 2.
